Cork Airport Location: Cork Airport is located 8 kilometers from Cork City Centre on the south end of the N27 when coming from the North, West, or East of Cork and off the R600 when coming from Kinsale and is well sign-posted on all major routes. 

Car Hire Return details: Cars should not be returned to this location outside of our indicated office hours. If you wish to return your rental car outside of the times indicated above please ask for directions to return your rental car when you pick up your car at the start of your hire.

 

Cork Airport Useful Information

Flights in to Cork now arrive from the UK, European Cities and some seasonal or charter flights from the USA and Canada. Although a smaller airport than Dublin, Cork is fast growing and passenger numbers are increasing year on year. A frequent bus service operates from the airport to the city centre. Train services operate downtown from Kent station serving all of Ireland.

 

Directions To our Car Rental Counter

The Europcar & National / Alamo, Irish Car Rentals Desk is located in the Car Hire Section, Arrivals Hall in the new terminal, Cork. When you exit the baggage hall the car rental desks are on your right hand side. You will see the Europcar / Irish Car Rentals sign and our desk. We are the last desk in the car rental line. If you wish to return your car to Cork Airport outside of our office hours this will not be a problem. Please ask our staff the return procedure when you arrive.

 

On Arrival

Customs and immigration in Ireland is generally hassle-free. However, contraband items are illegal and will not be tolerated. Still, plan at least an hour to 90 minutes or so to disembark, collect luggage, clear customs and arrange transportation. Visitors arriving will either rent a car, or travel onwards by Bus Eirann Coach or Taxi. If you are arriving early morning or late night we suggest you pre book your onwards transport.

 

Customs Information for Passengers 
Passengers often worry about customs formalities. Here is a simple guide to help you negotiate them. There are three customs channels in operation at Cork Airport - Blue, Green and Red. 

Blue Channel - Passengers whose journey and flight commenced in another EU country do not have to make any declaration to customs on arrival and may proceed directly through the Blue Channel 

Green and Red Channels - Passengers who arrive in Cork: on flights from non-EU countries, the Canary Islands or Channel Islands, from an EU airport on a flight that originated outside the EU, must clear customs in Ireland by going through either the Green or Red Channel. Irish Customs and Excise regulation information, including allowances and details of prohibited and restricted goods, is available at http://www.revenue.ie/services/customs/travel.htm 

You should go through the Green Channel if you are sure that you have: No more than the allowances to which you are entitled. These are posted on notices around the baggage hall No prohibited or restricted goods. You should go through the Red Channel if you, Are in doubt Have more than the allowances to which you are entitled Have any prohibited or restricted goods 

 

The Information Desk is located on the (lower) Arrivals Level in between the Car Hire Desks and Londis store. 
If you are collecting passengers from Cork Airport please ensure you know the flight number of your family, friends or colleagues and the airport they are flying from. The meeting point is located opposite the Airport information Desk in the Arrivals Hall. People meeting arriving passengers must park in the short-term multi-storey car park. Please do not arrange to be picked up outside the terminal building. Due to the volume of traffic at Cork Airport, vehicles are not permitted to park outside the terminal building. Attended vehicles will be moved on and the policy of clamping unattended vehicles is strictly enforced by Airport Police. Cars MUST NOT be left unattended at any time.

Cork Airport obliges all service providers at the airport to make their facilities user-friendly for any passengers with a need for special assistance so that their journey may be enjoyable and manageable. Cork Airport has continued to update and improve the facilities it provides for passengers with special needs throughout the airport. Specially adapted facilities include telephones, toilets and lifts, which are all fitted with Braille buttons. Cork Airport is a customer service oriented organisation and if you need any special assistance whilst at Cork Airport please do not hesitate to contact any employee. If you have a special need and require assistance while travelling, please bear these points in mind before booking your flight: 

  • Compare arrangements offered by different airlines before making your booking 

  • Check whether the cost of any special assistance or services is included in the price of your flight 

  • Inform the airline of your particular needs at the time of booking 

  • Remind the airline staff of your needs at check-in· 

  • Remember that there can often be long distances to walk within airports and some assistance may be needed on arrival as well as departure 

Special Parking
Reserved easy access car parking is available on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park and a covered walkway takes you directly to the entrance of the Terminal Building. Passengers who may require assistance from the car park can contact our customer service staff who will be happy to assist. Facilities for set down and pick-up are available for people with disabilities at the entrances to our Arrivals and Departures concourses.

Should special assistance be needed boarding your flight, please contact your airline in advance of your arrival at Cork Airport. 

Airport Facilities
The Terminal Building at Cork Airport is easily accessible. Specially adapted facilities include toilets, lifts, escalators, telephones, vending machines and signage. There are toilet facilities throughout the Airport building for people with disabilities. All standard and disabled facilities are clearly indicated by directional and overhead signage. 

There are ample lifts and escalators located throughout the terminal building. Clear directional signage points the way to these. All lifts have directional in built voiceovers and braille control buttons.

 

Telephone & Snack Vending Machine Facilities: Low-level coin, credit card telephones and snack vending machines are located throughout the Terminal Building to facilitate passengers in wheelchairs.

 

Facilities for Partially Sighted: Guide dogs and hearing dogs are the only dogs permitted in the terminal building. The airport directional and information signage is clearly placed, well lit and uses optimum colour contrast to ensure everyone can read them correctly.

 

Security Check: All passengers must pass through the security check before reaching the departures lounge. Such a search may be carried out by hand or by using hand-held detectors. If required, a private search area away from the main area can be provided. Should extra facilities or special assistance be needed after check-in, please contact your airline to advise them in advance.

ATMS
There are two ATM's just beside the Bank and Bureau de Change. One dispenses Euro only while the other dispenses both Euro and Sterling Airline Needs

Car Rental

It is wise to ensure your onward travel plans prior to arriving at Cork, there are several Car Hire Companies at Cork Airport, open 8am to 10pm, and many will be pre-booked, especially in Peak Season.

 

Bus & Rail

You can get to and from Cork Airport from virtually any point throughout Ireland with Bus Eireann. A daily service is available to and from Cork City Centre with regular departures every 45 minutes.
